Egypt imports of feed corn exceed 148 million dollars last February

The data of the central agency for public mobilization and statistics monitored the development of Egypt's imports of corn used in the feed industry in the recent period, in light of the state's keenness to provide the necessary materials to reduce poultry prices.

The agency's data said that Egypt's corn imports recorded a noticeable increase at the beginning of this year, reaching about 148 million and 988 thousand dollars last February, up from 136 million and 205 thousand dollars in February 2023, an increase of 12 million and 783 thousand dollars.

Corn imports came among the list of the most important Egyptian imports of agricultural commodities during that period, as the list also included Egypt's imports of broad beans, whose imports amounted to 46 million and 876 thousand dollars last February, compared to 38 million and 841 thousand dollars in the same month in 2023, an increase of 8 million dollars, followed by unroasted coffee worth 18 million and 401 thousand dollars last February, while it was 12 million and 488 thousand dollars in the same month in 2023, an increase of 5 million and 913 thousand dollars.

The value of Egyptian imports in February decreased by 2.4%, reaching about 6.08 billion dollars, compared to 6.23 billion dollars for the same month of the previous year, with a decline of 0.14
